We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Corporate Agreement Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional results and contributing to the success of our organization.
About the RoleThe Corporate Agreement Manager will be responsible for preparing and reviewing contracts, providing timely legal advice and opinions, and ensuring that agreements serve the interests of the company. This includes determining if agreements are favorable to the company, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes as needed.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Screen and evaluate agreements/contracts, including service level agreements, gas sale and purchase agreements, and contracts for services.
- Determine the suitability of agreements for the company's interests and identify potential issues or unfavorable terms.
- Study drafts of impending legislation and provide recommendations on how to address potential implications.
- Coordinate with various departments to resolve issues related to contract drafting, execution, or finalization.
- Prepare draft contracts for commercial transactions, memoranda of understanding, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Review tenancy and lease agreements and provide feedback to relevant departments.
- Study reports on court decisions and evaluate the potential impact on the company's operations or lawsuits.
- Coordinate with external law firms for specialized legal opinions and review their feedback.
- Participate in negotiation teams to settle terms of gas sale agreements with E&P companies.
- Ensure that legal aspects are addressed in settlement-related matters.
- Provide legal opinions and guidance on referred issues, cases, or queries from user departments.
- Represent the company in government and legal forums, as required.
- Assist in the institution and follow-up of lawsuits filed by the company or in suits where the company is defendant.
- Attend court hearings on behalf of the company, as deemed necessary.
- Prepare periodic reports on the progress status of contracts.
- Review lists for vetting of standard legal documents.
- Support junior legal staff in developing initial drafts and legal opinions.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should also have a solid understanding of contract law, legislation, and regulations.
- Qualifications:
- Law degree from a recognized university.
- 5 years of relevant experience in contract management or a related field.
- 2 years of bar enrollment experience.
