">Senior Payroll Accountant Job Description

The Senior Payroll Accountant plays a pivotal role in managing comprehensive payroll activities, including analysis and review for accuracy, reporting, and year-end tasks. Effective coordination with finance teams and HR is essential to address payroll issues.

  • Payroll Management: Process end-to-end payroll for various countries in EMEA, encompassing Sweden, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Finland, Spain, and others.
  • Collaboration with HR: Validate payroll input, confirm employee timesheets, handle one-time payouts, overtime, leave of absence notifications, severance payments, and provide information to service providers within stipulated timelines.
  • Payroll Reporting: Validate payroll reports shared by service providers to ensure timely and error-free processing.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis control and research variance reports to determine the next course of action.
  • Reimbursements: Process reimbursements and claims requested by employees as per schedule.
  • Support and Compliance: Provide backup support for payrolls in other countries as needed and ensure full compliance with tax and social insurance filings and payments.
  • Accounting and Year-End Processing: Prepare payroll accounting files for monthly payroll, time accrual, and pension-related accounting, and handle payroll and tax year-end processing based on country-specific requirements.
  • Employee Queries: Address employee queries regarding payrolls and timesheets.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with multiple departments such as HR, Legal, Finance, and Benefits on various requirements.
  • Audits and Compliance: Assist in internal audits with a high emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, and maintain and update standard operating procedures quarterly.
