Job Title: Cybersecurity Specialist

About the Role:
The position requires a cybersecurity specialist to implement solutions, migrate existing firewalls to new FortiNet appliances, configure initial customer setups, support integrations with third-party applications, troubleshoot issues, complete change requests, monitor security appliances, resolve security notifications, and improve security implementations proactively.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Safeguard information system assets by identifying and resolving security issues.
  2. Define access privileges, control structures, and resources to protect systems.
  3. Identify abnormalities and report violations to recognize problems.
  4. Assess current security situations, evaluate trends, and anticipate requirements to implement security improvements.
  5. Conduct periodic audits to identify violations and inefficiencies.
  6. Upgrade systems by implementing and maintaining security controls.
  7. Prepare performance reports and communicate system status to keep users and customers informed.
  8. Maintain quality service following organizational standards.
  9. Attend educational workshops and review publications to maintain technical knowledge.
  10. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
  11. Perform troubleshooting on active accounts.

Requirements:
  • System administration skills.
  • Network security expertise.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of information security policies.
  • On-call network troubleshooting skills.
  • Firewall administration experience.
  • Understanding of network protocols.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with FortiNet FortiGuard security appliances, including designing, configuring, monitoring, and resolving issues. Advanced FortiNet security certifications. Industry certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, Security+ CE, CISSP, or CASP. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network ports, protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and security fundamentals. Experience analyzing logs, network data (e.g., NetFlow, FPC), and attack artifacts for incident investigations. Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.
