
Office 365 Email Administration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to manage our internal Office 365 environment, oversee email infrastructure, and handle SMTP configurations.
This role requires strong technical skills, hands-on experience with email routing and security controls, and the ability to support both internal operations and client-facing needs.
Main Responsibilities:- Manage and configure Office 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SMTP services, and compliance settings.
- Implement and maintain whitelisting/blacklisting controls, spam/phishing protection, and email hygiene using Microsoft Defender for Office 365 or similar tools.
- Support internal users and client teams with email delivery issues, SMTP configuration support, and Exchange/Outlook troubleshooting.
- Maintain and audit mail flow rules (transport rules), connectors, and policies in Exchange Admin Center.
- Monitor and troubleshoot mail routing, NDRs, SMTP relays, and email performance issues.
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange Online and Office 365 administration.
- Strong knowledge of SMTP protocols, email authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and email relay configurations.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Exchange Admin Center, and PowerShell for Office 365/Exchange Online.
- Solid understanding of email delivery troubleshooting, DNS (MX records, SPF, DKIM), and anti-spam/anti-phishing policies.
- Experience with application-level SMTP setup and support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Microsoft Certification (e.g., Microsoft Exchange certification).
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Purview compliance center, or third-party email gateways.
- Experience with hybrid Exchange deployments or migrations to Office 365.
- Familiarity with Power Automate or scripting for automation of email-related tasks.
