Community Outreach Specialist

The position will support the implementation of integrated community outreach activities.

The incumbent will directly assist implementing partners for Farmer Field School (FFS) community outreach, ensuring quality assurance of non-negotiable processes and gender transformative aspects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight and quality assurance of Letters of Agreement with service providers for FFS outreach
  • Supporting service providers to implement integrated community outreach, including community awareness and planning
  • Facilitating service providers to develop detailed community outreach plans for empowering livestock farmers through FFS
  • Coordinating engagements with district technical departments for joint planning, backstopping, and supervision of community outreach activities
  • Ensuring high-quality community outreach, adhering to guidelines and systematically conducting sessions
  • Providing learning materials, information, extension, and communication materials to outreach groups
  • Assisting in monitoring community outreach interventions, preparing tailored trainings, and compiling monitoring sheets
  • Collating data from FFS learning activities and outreach into the digitalized FFS Monitoring Evaluation Learning (MEL) system
  • Submitting documentation to facilitate government counterparts' support
  • Providing technical backstopping to FFS facilitators and ensuring adherence to non-negotiable principles
  • Identifying and facilitating access to rural financing opportunities for FFS groups
  • Tracking targets and developing sustainability plans for FFS groups
  • Supporting preparation of work plans, progress reports, and case studies
  • Documenting emerging innovations and sharing with the communications team
