We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tooling Development Engineer II to join our team in Mobile, AL.

Job Description:

This is a critical role responsible for coordinating and supporting activities related to A320 Family aircraft assembly jigs, tools, and equipment at the Final Assembly Line (FAL) - USA. The successful candidate will lead jigs & tools projects to support operational requirements within the Mobile Manufacturing Site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative solutions for tooling and equipment based on production needs, utilizing strong understanding of tolerancing, fixturing, and electrical/mechanical/pneumatic systems.

  • Lead multiple work packages distributed within the team, providing necessary reporting for jigs & tools project status, managing budget requests, and ensuring timely completion of projects.

  • Evaluate and specify modifications to existing equipment for adaptation to customer needs, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to production.

  • Research and evaluate machines and systems to fulfill customer requirements, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with the Quality group during engineering inspection of new/modified equipment for release to user acceptance testing, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • PREFERRED: Advanced Degree in Engineering or Management field.

  • REQUIRED: Demonstrated experience managing technical projects, including leading teams and ensuring timely completion of projects.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic/electrical systems and ability to apply this knowledge to develop innovative solutions.

  • 3+ years of experience managing subcontractor activities in a production environment or demonstrated experience in Airbus jigs & tools development.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, etc.)

  • PREFERRED: Experience managing capital projects, including budget justification/request management.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering GSuite solutions for improved operational efficiency.

  • PREFERRED: PMP certification.

  • Technical certifications and OSHA certifications are desirable.

  • Travel Required: 10% Domestic and International.

  • Strong technical capabilities, data analysis and presentation skills, and ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Flexibility to quickly shift priorities based on the needs of the FAL.

  • Able to manage complex topics with many stakeholders, communicate effectively, and lead recovery activities resulting from unplanned technical challenges.

  • Capable of independently making complex technical decisions related to assigned projects.

  • Catia experience is beneficial.
