Job Title: Dialysis Treatment Specialist

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled dialysis treatment specialist to join our team. As a dialysis treatment specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the dialysis unit and nephrology department.
  • You will manage hemodialysis machines to provide adequate dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure.
  • Our ideal candidate will explain dialysis procedures and the operation of hemodialysis machines to patients before treatment.
  • You will also be responsible for managing and monitoring patients for adverse reactions during dialysis.
  • In addition, you will advise patients on nutrition and dietary schedules during dialysis.
  • The quality of water purification systems (R.O. plant) used for hemodialysis is crucial, and you will ensure that they meet the required standards.
  • You will prepare and implement SOPs for renal dialysis.
  • Your responsibilities will also include conducting nephrology assessments, including medication types, presenting symptoms, and medical conditions.
  • You will manage equipment and instruments, ensuring regular maintenance and optimal working condition.
  • Additionally, you will manage patients' hematologic abnormalities and adjust erythropoietin dosing under nephrologist supervision.
  • You will monitor patients' monthly labs, follow up, and adjust medications accordingly under nephrologist supervision.
  • Safeguarding all dialysis unit accessories is essential, and you will take responsibility for this task.
  • Accurately collecting and reporting data (vital signs, weight) and observing patient conditions, reporting changes to staff, is critical.
  • You will treat patients politely, answer their questions patiently, and guide them properly.
  • Regularly checking equipment for accuracy and reporting faults is important.
  • You will participate in developing patient care plans.
  • Monitoring dialysis adequacy and access site conditions (AVF, AVG) is vital.
  • Proper handling and non-misuse of equipment must be ensured.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of dialysis equipment and room, similar to ICU standards, is a priority.
  • You will ensure regular maintenance of the water treatment plant.
  • Verifying patients' viral and HIV status before dialysis and dialyzing infected patients on separate machines is essential.
  • Monitoring prescribed dialysis dose, dry weight, anticoagulation, and ultrafiltration according to patient status is critical.
  • You may be assigned additional duties by the nephrologist.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in dialysis technology or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dialysis-related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in dialysis unit and nephrology department.
  • Experience with hemodialysis machines and equipment.
  • Familiarity with water purification systems (R.O. plant).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
