Mental Health Service Provider

The job involves working in a multidisciplinary team and using a biopsychosocial approach to provide mental health case management services to individuals in need. The successful candidate will be a frontline worker who can assess, plan, and implement interventions to address the mental health needs of beneficiaries.

Key tasks include:

  • ">
  • Promoting and introducing mental health services within community settings and primary healthcare centers">
  • Conducting full case management processes, including assessment, care planning, referral, follow-up, and discharge">
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients, their environment, and support networks">
  • Providing psychological and social support to beneficiaries at primary healthcare centers and community settings">
  • Facilitating referrals and ensuring adequate follow-up of all cases referred">
  • Conducting outreach activities and home visits when necessary">
  • Preparing and conducting mental health awareness sessions using relevant guidance, tools, and information, education, and communication materials">
  • Preparing and conducting psychoeducation">

Requirements for the position include:

Minimum Qualifications

">
  • ">
  • Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience">
  • Additional qualifications such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Psychological Intervention, or other Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) related qualifications are desirable">
  • Typically 1-3 years of relevant and progressive experience in MHPSS service provision, health facility, and/or community-based MHPSS preferably in humanitarian/low resource settings">
  • Previous NGO experience is desired">
  • Awareness of the IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings">
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and proactive problem-solving">
  • Good interpersonal skills, written, and oral communication skills">
  • Ability to work within a team structure or in isolation, flexible, and able to cope with stressful workloads and work with limited resources">
  • Honest, hardworking, and self-motivated individual able to exercise sound judgment">
  • Commitment to Humanitarian Principles and adherence to ethical considerations regarding working with vulnerable populations">
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure high-quality work">
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office, advanced MS Office skills are a plus">
  • Fluency in a relevant local language as well as basic command of verbal and written English">
