As a psychologist with International Medical Corps, you will be part of a team dedicated to providing evidence-based psychological services and promoting mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) through community-based activities.

Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to provide high-quality mental health and psychosocial support services to clients and their families. This will involve working closely with clinical and supportive supervision teams to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with national and international guidelines on best practices related to mental health and psychosocial support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing evidence-based psychological services for clients and their families with mental health conditions and psychosocial issues.
  • Engaging with clinical and supportive supervision to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Working as part of a mental health case management team along with other service providers to coordinate care plans and services.
  • Developing care plans that are individualized and mutually developed with the client.
  • Conducting risk assessments and advising staff on carrying out risk assessments and developing safety plans.
  • Staying up-to-date on evidence-based psychological interventions and advances in the field of psychology.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A Master's degree in psychology and/or holding a license to practice psychology is essential.
  • Experience with an NGO is preferred.
  • 3 + years' experience in mental health is preferred.
  • Master at least one psychotherapy technique.
  • Knowledge in human rights, especially as they relate to people with mental health and psychosocial concerns is preferred.
  • Must be a computer literate, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in low resource contexts.
  • Good ability to work in a multiethnic environment.
  • Interest in learning and continued professional development.
  • Arabic and English language ability is essential.
