Data Center Operations Specialist

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the management of data center operations, including installation, configuration, fault management, troubleshooting, maintenance, replacement, expansion and renovation of hardware, servers, SAN, telecommunication infrastructure and networks.

• Ensuring the security of data center operations by preventing DDoS attacks, deploying intrusion detection systems, blocking servers posing a threat to data center computing resources or internet, pre-empting unauthorized physical access through security cameras and key cards, controlling environmental conditions, preventing and suppressing fire, applying recommended security updates, patches and restrictions to harden operating systems, implementing security policies according to industry accepted international best practices, implementing SIEM solutions for real-time monitoring, correlation of events, notifications for user or malicious activity detections, conducting security audits to explore weaknesses in servers, networks, operating systems and software applications.
• Audit of SOP's and application processes to acquire immunity to social engineering attacks.
• Contact with third-party vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Remote access through wireless and mobile computing.
• Assistance in the deployment of connectivity through internet and data links, provision of secure access to remote offices through VPN/intranet and liaison with external service providers.
• Placement of all network connections on layer 3 switches in separate virtual local area networks (vLAN) for customer subnets, accessible via high-end redundant, automatic failover switches and firewalls, maintenance of hardware and firmware upgrades and patches for network devices.
• Notification of unanticipated power or network issues to customers and their resolution.
• Maintenance of workstations, laptops, printers, scanners and other IT-related hardware deployed at various offices of customers.
• Installation, configuration, fault management and troubleshooting of operating systems, application software, biometric access control systems and video surveillance systems.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in computer science, computer/electrical/electronic engineering from reputable foreign or HEC-recognized institutions with at least 70% marks or 3+ CGPA.
• Proficiency in current enterprise server hardware, operating systems, security systems, data center and distributed operations.
• Expertise in IT virtual technologies and other IT green technologies.
• Experience in designing, planning and managing state-of-the-art data centers.
• Certification in virtualization and experience in cloud computing.
• Certified security specialist preferred.
• At least 10 years' hands-on post-qualification experience in network administration with reputed IT organizations, including at least 3 years' experience in planning, designing, configuration, development, deployment, modification, administration, maintenance, monitoring, performance optimization and implementation of security policies, procedures and best practices of complex wired and wireless/radio technology, local area networks (LAN), metropolitan area networks (MAN), VSAT networks, extranets, intranets, protocols (TCP/IP, remote access, network services (COS, policy-based networking, etc.) audio and video transport, using Cisco suite and other manufacturers.
