
Strategic Insurance Business Leader

A Manager Insurance role requires a strategic and results-driven insurance expert to lead the growth and development of an insurance digital platform.
- This position will oversee the end-to-end insurance product lifecycle, from design and compliance to customer experience and financial performance.

The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities including:
- Developing and executing the long-term strategy for insurance business, ensuring alignment with the overall business roadmap.
- Identifying new insurance verticals, customer segments, and trends to drive future product innovations.
- Representing the insurance company in regulatory, industry, and partner forums to promote digital insurance innovation.
- Leading the design and structuring of a full suite of digital insurance products, ensuring competitive pricing, risk management, and customer appeal.
- Collaborating with actuarial teams and insurance partners to guide underwriting strategies and risk management.
- Owning the P&L for the digital insurance portfolio, monitoring KPIs such as acquisition, conversion, claims ratio, and profitability.
- Setting and monitoring growth targets, driving campaign strategies and partnerships to enhance market presence.
- Establishing ROI-driven frameworks for digital campaigns, cross-sell initiatives, and loyalty programs.
- Building and managing strong relationships with insurers, brokers, reinsurers, TPAs, and tech vendors, negotiating contracts and revenue-sharing models.
- Developing scalable embedded insurance models within the digital ecosystem and other partner platforms.
- Engaging with regulators to shape the insurance regulatory environment and ensure compliance.
- Ensuring all insurance products and operations adhere to local regulations, data protection laws, and industry standards.
- Overseeing the development of the digital insurance platform, driving automation, personalization, and real-time integrations.
- Leading the integration of insurer APIs, AI/ML-driven claims engines, and backend systems for enhanced efficiency.
- Championing AI-driven initiatives for fraud detection, claims automation, and personalized policy recommendations within the platform.
- Steering end-to-end user journey design across all platforms (web, app, USSD), optimizing for accessibility, insurance literacy, and first-time users.
- Ensuring app features like digital policy vaults, claims tracking, and in-app servicing meet usability standards.
- Leading a cross-functional team, working closely with product managers, analysts, operations, and compliance specialists.
- Collaborating with tech, marketing, legal, and customer experience teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- 7+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within insurance, digital platforms, fintech, or insurtech.
- A strong understanding of insurance operations, regulations (SECP), and digital distribution models.
- A proven track record in launching and scaling insurance or financial products digitally.
- Demonstrated success in managing strategic partnerships and commercial negotiations.
- Deep analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions in a complex environment.
- Experience with API-based insurance or embedded insurance platforms.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration in insurance business.
- An understanding of digital health, e-pharmacy, or integrated care models.
- Exposure to international insurtech trends and partnerships.
- A strong communication and leadership presence for board-level and regulatory interactions.
- Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL) and performance monitoring platforms (e.g., Firebase, GA4).
