Healthcare Release of Information Supervisor

The role of a Release of Information Supervisor is to oversee the daily activities of the release of information unit, ensuring a steady workflow and efficient accomplishment of assigned tasks within the designated timeframe.
To achieve this, the successful candidate will conduct regular unit meetings with staff, providing counsel and maintaining open communication channels to address any problems that may arise.
Effective liaison with other departments will also be essential in resolving intervening issues and ensuring smooth functioning of the unit in accordance with Medical Records policies and procedures.
In addition, the successful candidate will liaise with the ISD on a regular basis to optimize system performance, resulting in simplified working routines and increased overall output from the department.
The supervisor will also be responsible for managing staff during public holidays, strikes, and emergency situations to overcome staffing shortages.
Duty rosters and attendance sheets will be meticulously prepared and monitored to ensure sufficient staff coverage at all times.
The supervisor will measure quality against specific indicators, assessing compliance with established standards.
A key responsibility will be to release medical information, including investigation reports and discharge summaries, to external customers on a daily basis, as per HIMS policy and procedure.
Additional duties may include assisting associates and assistant managers in preparing staff for JCIA and ISO training, performing appraisals of staff, and providing feedback on their performance throughout the year.
Key Requirements- A graduate degree
- At least 4-6 years of related work experience
- An excellent command over written and verbal English communication
- Good knowledge of computer packages
- Excellent knowledge of the Health Information Management Services computer system
- Good leadership skills
- Good interpersonal skills
