About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Expert Construction Project Manager for Sustainable Development. As a key member of our Supply & Logistics department, you will play a critical role in delivering construction projects that meet the needs of children and communities around the world.

You will work closely with our colleagues in country offices, regional centers, and headquarters to develop and implement construction plans that align with our strategic objectives. Your expertise will help us build infrastructure that supports education, healthcare, and emergency response efforts.

As a seasoned construction professional, you will bring your knowledge and experience to manage projects from inception to completion. You will oversee site selection, design, procurement, and implementation, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

Your focus will be on building capacity within our teams and partners, providing guidance on best practices, and supporting the development of sustainable construction solutions that meet the needs of diverse communities.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement construction plans that align with UNICEF's strategic objectives
- Manage construction projects from inception to completion, overseeing site selection, design, procurement, and implementation
- Build capacity within UNICEF teams and partner organizations, providing guidance on best practices and sustainable construction solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project requirements, timelines, and budgets
- Ensure compliance with UNICEF policies, regulations, and industry standards

Requirements

- Advanced university degree (master's or above) in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field
- Minimum five years of experience in construction project management, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale construction projects, including site supervision, quality assurance, and contract administration
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, green building techniques, and environmentally friendly materials
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in another official UN language is an asset
