Job Description

The Aga Khan University Hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical services to its patients.

Its tertiary care hospital in Karachi is part of a network that includes 4 secondary care hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 290+ Clinical Laboratories, 30+ Pharmacies across Pakistan.

The Hospital offers Home Healthcare Services and home deliveries of medicines. It also provides Zakat for eligible patients and generous Patient Welfare to support those in need.

In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the AKUH is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Centre and its Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for fast and accurate testing.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily activities of release of information ensuring steady workflow and timely completion of assigned work.
  • Conduct unit meetings and counsel staff on a need basis to maintain two-way communication and problem-solving.
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve intervening problems and ensure smooth functioning of the unit according to Medical Records policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with ISD for system optimization resulting in simplified working routines and increased output of the department.
  • Manage staff during public holidays strikes and emergency situations to overcome shortages.
  • Prepare duty rosters and monitor attendance sheets ensuring sufficient staff coverage at all times.
  • Measure quality against specific quality indicators to assess/maintain compliance.
  • Release medical information investigation reports discharge summaries etc to facilitate external customers daily as per HIMS policy and procedure.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assist Associates & Assistant Manager in preparation and training of staff for JCIA & ISO.
  • Perform appraisals of staff providing feedback regarding their performance throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will be a Graduate with at least 4-6 years of related work experience. Excellent command over written and verbal English communication good knowledge of computer packages excellent knowledge of computer systems of Health Information Management Services good leadership skills and good interpersonal skills are required.
