Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects.

About the Role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will have overall responsibility for managing project costs, analyzing tender documents, and preparing cost estimates and budgets. They will also be responsible for negotiating contracts, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to ensure accurate cost estimation
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within agreed budget
  • Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, analyzing bids, and recommending contractors
  • Negotiate contracts and subcontracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions
  • Administer and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and prepare reports on project progress and cost performance
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing and invoicing to clients and stakeholders
  • Identify and assess project risks related to cost, time, and quality
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure their implementation
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors and other team members
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, FRICS) is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, BuildSoft, or similar)
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Leadership and team management abilities
