Proposal Writer Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to leverage their writing and technical skills to create compelling proposals that win business.

We are seeking a skilled professional to develop proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and proposal schedules. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Dissect RFPs and build compliance matrices.
  • Work with the proposal development team to articulate win strategies.
  • Collect technical data and pricing information from Subject Matter Experts.
  • Create storyboards and sectional outlines.
  • Develop proposal templates and models.
  • Compose all bid content, including executive summaries, organization credentials, cost narratives, technical sections, conclusions, etc.
  • Interface with internal and external partners to implement proposal strategy and meet proposal deadlines.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Maintain quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintain proposal support databases.
  • Monitor changes to solicitations and adjust work accordingly.
  • Assist in facilitating team reviews of work and revise product as required.
  • Edit text to ensure that bid is error-free, uniform in tone and style, and adheres to company stipulations.
  • Work with graphics specialist to create document visuals.
  • Pull proposal together, integrating disparate components into a unified, coherent whole and compile and ship proposal in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of proposal-writing standards, including readability, consistency, and tone. They will be responsible for maintaining quality results, monitoring changes to solicitations, and adjusting work accordingly.
