Job Title: Head of Finance Payables


The Head of Finance Payables plays a critical role in overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and develop the Accounts Payable team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment that promotes professional growth and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payments
  • Monitor and manage AP workflows, resolving any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and internal controls
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiate terms, and resolve payment-related issues
  • Manage vendor inquiries and disputes, providing exceptional customer service and satisfaction
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the AP function
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline AP processes and reduce manual workload
  • Prepare and analyze AP reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the AP function, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Treasury, and Accounting, to support business operations and strategic initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and resolving issues as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; ACCA/CA certification is preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in accounts payable or finance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an asset; experience working in a Shared Services environment is beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of AP processes, financial regulations, and internal controls
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
