Job Title: Depot Site Manager

The Depot Operations Manager oversees the entire depot operations process, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of empty containers. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong understanding of logistics, container management systems, and depot infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations of the container yard to ensure optimal utilization of resources and maintain high service levels for shipping lines, transporters, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, transport companies, and other stakeholders to manage container movements efficiently.
  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for container handling and storage.
Team Management:
  • Supervise a team of repair technicians and provide training and development opportunities to enhance their skills.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.
  • Ensure all yard staff are trained and adhere to safety and operational guidelines.
Inventory Control:
  • Maintain accurate records of container inventory and conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure inventory accuracy and container condition.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards, and implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety drills and training sessions.
Maintenance and Repair Operations:
  • Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of containers, ensuring all repairs meet industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the quality of repairs and address any issues or discrepancies in repair work.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or engineering, and experience in logistics, depot, or terminal operations, preferably in a management role.
