Strategic Partnership Director

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead our efforts in targeting and acquiring institutional partnerships with colleges and universities in the USA and Canada. This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of the education sector, close high-value deals, and lay the foundation for long-term partnerships that will support our scaling efforts.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify and Secure Institutional Partnerships: Identify, target, and secure partnerships with colleges and universities in the USA and Canada, aligning our platform with their academic and administrative needs.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand the specific challenges and needs of the education sector.
- Strategic Engagement: Develop tailored strategies for engaging with institutional clients, creating proposals, and presenting our value proposition to academic decision-makers.
- Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure.
- Presentation and Pitching: Present and pitch our platform to educational leaders, showcasing how it enhances student engagement and academic performance.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate terms, finalize contracts, and ensure a smooth handoff to the partnerships team for onboarding.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain long-term relationships with universities, ensuring a deep understanding of their evolving needs.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams (product, marketing, and client success) to ensure the successful implementation of our platform within partnered institutions.
- Partnership Expansion: Actively work to expand existing partnerships, identifying opportunities for upselling or introducing new features and services.
- Trend Identification: Identify emerging trends in the higher education sector and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Event Participation: Participate in educational conferences, webinars, and networking events to increase our visibility and attract potential partners.
- Performance Tracking: Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators related to business development efforts, ensuring that goals and revenue targets are met.
- Leadership and Mentorship: As the company grows, lead the business development function, including hiring and managing Business Development Executives or additional sales staff.
- Business Strategy Contribution: Contribute to the overall business strategy, working closely with senior management to refine growth plans and institutional outreach.
