Job Description

The Credentialing Specialist will accurately complete credentialing and reappointment applications for providers to be sent to payers and facilities.

They will track outstanding applications and report progress to team leaders, ensuring timely completion and compliance.

Maintaining accurate information in provider portals is a key responsibility, including monitoring and updating electronic records.

Current provider records must be kept electronically in credentialing software, provider folders, and hard copy folders.

Providers are required to submit necessary documentation such as licenses, IRS documents, NPI Notification forms, DEA numbers, board certifications, malpractice certificates, and insurance information.

The Credentialing Specialist must communicate professionally with providers, payers, and facilities, and have excellent problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve issues efficiently.

Brief knowledge of government, managed care organizations, and commercial insurance enrollments is necessary.

Additionally, the Credentialing Specialist will process ERA & EFT applications and maintain accurate records of all activities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in credentialing or a related field
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proficiency in credentialing software and systems
