GBV Support Specialist Job Overview

The GBV Support Specialist will provide direct assistance to vulnerable women and girls and survivors of GBV, including case management and psychosocial support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Provision
    • Assess survivor's needs; offer basic counseling; develop and implement a care plan; facilitate access to additional services according to clients' wishes.
    • Collaborate closely with the supervisor and seek support when necessary.
    • Provide information on available services and support survivors in making informed decisions through referral, accompaniment, service coordination, and follow-up.
    • Distribute emergency cash and material aid based on individual needs assessments.
  • Monitoring and Reporting
    • Seek feedback from clients and adapt services accordingly.
    • Support post-distribution monitoring.
    • Maintain accurate records of service provision and keep case files up-to-date.
  • Coordination, Advocacy, and Representation
    • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including community leaders and other humanitarian partners and service providers.
    • Coordinate with other service providers and community focal points to enhance access to services and build support for survivors.
  • Security and Conduct
    • Ensure adherence to security protocols and policies.
    • Cultivate a safe and supportive work environment for all GBV staff and partners.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
