Job Title:

Nursing Education Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct comprehensive orientation programs for registered nurses, midwives, nursing technicians, and nursing assistants.
  • Develop and deliver in-service sessions, workshops, training courses, and CPR courses tailored to the needs of nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and implement educational plans, modules, outlines, and performance checklists/evaluation tools.
  • Review and update existing nursing policies, procedure guidelines, and protocols; facilitate awareness sessions for nursing staff.
  • Monitor nursing practices to ensure compliance with established policies and protocols; provide feedback to area HNs/CNIs.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments of orientees and nursing staff utilizing strategic tools.
  • Evaluate trainees' progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Integrate principles of effective teaching and learning into program development and implementation.
  • Exemplify professionalism and serve as a role model.
  • Design competence-based programs focused on knowledge retention and skill enhancement.
  • Participate in committees such as NEAC and P&P meetings, providing input and expertise.
  • Evaluate the quality of educational modules, resources, and equipment to ensure alignment with departmental goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends by conducting literature searches and modifying educational content accordingly.
  • Ensure educational programs align with organizational objectives.
  • Supervise nursing interns during their internships, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Participate in nursing audits and mock drills, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Maintain flexibility in managing roles and responsibilities.
  • Foster a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Engage in ongoing personal and professional growth.
  • Cultivate clinical practice aligned with personal goals.
  • Participate in at least one quality improvement project annually.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Department Head.
