Role Purpose

The Head of Retail Human Resources will lead the HR function at Japan Electronics, with a strong focus on retail operations, showrooms, and field staff across the electronics sector. This role ensures compliance with labor laws, alignment with business strategy, and development of HR practices that support retail growth, customer-centric culture, and operational excellence. The position requires proven experience in managing HR for retail and electronics businesses, including workforce planning for outlets, sales teams, and aftersales staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies tailored to retail operations and electronics sector needs.
  • Advise the CEO and leadership team on workforce planning, retail manpower optimization, and sales team effectiveness.
  • Ensure policies remain competitive, fair, and aligned with dynamic retail environments.

2. Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Enforce compliance with Pakistan labor laws, especially related to retail staff contracts, outlet operations, and overtime policies.
  • Oversee grievance handling for showroom staff and branch teams, ensuring timely and fair resolution.
  • Drive consistent HR practices across all retail locations.

3. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead recruitment strategies for sales teams, outlet managers, warehouse/aftersales staff, and support roles.
  • Build strong pipelines of retail talent through targeted hiring, internship programs, and training academies.
  • Ensure effective manpower deployment across multiple branches and cities.

4. Performance & Rewards Management

  • Implement performance management systems for retail staff with clear KPIs (sales targets, customer service scores, outlet efficiency).
  • Ensure pay structures, incentives, and rewards are competitive within the electronics retail industry.
  • Drive a "pay for performance" culture at both head office and retail levels.

5. Career Development & Training

  • Design retail-specific training programs (sales techniques, customer handling, product knowledge).
  • Develop leadership tracks for outlet managers and regional teams.
  • Build technical and soft skills training for aftersales and support staff.

6. Organizational Development & Culture

  • Strengthen customer-focused culture within retail operations.
  • Foster alignment between sales, aftersales, and head office teams.
  • Support change management initiatives as the company expands retail footprint

7. HR Operations & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate HR records for all retail and head office staff.
  • Track KPIs such as turnover in retail outlets, sales staff retention, and engagement levels.
  • Provide timely reporting to CEO and Board with actionable insights on retail HR performance.

KPIs

  • Retail Staffing:
    Time-to-fill vacancies (≤ 30 days), outlet staffing ratio, new hire retention ≥ 85%.
  • Compliance:
    Zero compliance breaches in retail outlets, 100% compliance with overtime/payroll regulations.
  • Performance:
    100% PER completion, correlation between retail KPIs and incentives.
  • Training:
    ≥ 80% retail staff covered in product knowledge and customer service training.
  • Engagement:
    Retail employee engagement ≥ 75%, voluntary turnover ≤ 10%.
  • HR Operations:
    98% HRIS accuracy, retail-specific reports submitted 100% on time.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in
    retail HR management
    , preferably electronics or FMCG sector.
  • Deep understanding of sales team dynamics, showroom operations, and retail performance systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Pakistan labor laws and retail workforce compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, MS Office, and HR analytics

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in HRM, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a
    retail/electronics sector leadership role
    .
  • Proven track record in managing retail HR operations, talent acquisition, compensation, and compliance.
