Job Brief:

Employment Type: Project Based
Timings zone: Rome (4 Hours overlap)
Location: Remote, Full Time
Project Duration: 120 days with possible extension based on business need

Responsibilities:

  • Develop advanced portfolio analytical tools to support investment decision-making and monitoring.
  • Automate the integration of Bloomberg AIM trades into the investment management dashboard using Python or SQL.
  • Design and implement data extraction, transformation, visualization, and loading (ETL) processes for investment management data into SQL or an agreed data repository.
  • Create robust and scalable queries and scripts in Python or SQL to replicate and enhance trade detail updates and generate analytical reports.
  • Migrate existing reports and data sources currently used in the investment management dashboard to Bloomberg , or alternative centralized databases.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and prepare comprehensive workflow and process documentation for management system modules used by the investment management team.
  • Produce templates and research outputs for periodic performance reporting and analytics.
  • Develop detailed user manuals for all developed tools and reports, and conduct training sessions for end-users.
  • Contribute to additional investment portfolio analysis tasks, particularly those focused on process automation, data integrity, and efficient data management.
  • Develop APIs for both datasets to enable future integrations.
  • Deploy all developed code following DevOps standards and practices.
  • Support ICT and TRE teams during unit testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Update the IT Knowledge Base, ensuring application documentation is up-to-date and available.
  • Any other support duties as required.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional work experience
  • Proven expertise in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for database querying, data structuring, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Bloomberg systems, particularly proficiency in Bloomberg Query Language (BQL).
  • Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end data solutions, including extraction, transformation, and visualization.
  • Experience in preparing clear and detailed technical documentation and user training materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of automation practices throughout the development, build, and deployment phases of the application life-cycle.
  • Experience with development using Github, Bitbucket or Gitlab.
  • Contributing to Open Source projects is a plus.
