Responsibilities

  • Processing payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule
  • Maintaining and updating payroll records and employee data
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and addressing employee payroll queries
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, policies, and regulations (local, state, and federal)
  • Managing deductions, benefits, tax withholdings, garnishments, and other payroll adjustments
  • Preparing and submitting payroll reports, tax filings, and journal entries—possibly aiding in audits or general ledger entries

  • Supporting process improvements, payroll system upgrades, and policy development to streamline operations
  • Occasionally, administrative tasks like onboarding data management and pay changes

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in fields such as Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or HR
  • Prior experience in payroll processing or a similar accounting/HR role
  • Familiarity with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, QuickBooks, Paychex, SAP) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong numeracy, analytical, and attention-to-detail capabilities
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Sound understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance standards
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
  • For HR-specific titles (e.g., HR Payroll Executive), 2–3 years of experience and strong professionalism may be emphasized
