
Payroll executive

Responsibilities
- Processing payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule
- Maintaining and updating payroll records and employee data
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and addressing employee payroll queries
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, policies, and regulations (local, state, and federal)
- Managing deductions, benefits, tax withholdings, garnishments, and other payroll adjustments
- Preparing and submitting payroll reports, tax filings, and journal entries—possibly aiding in audits or general ledger entries
- Collaborating with HR, Finance, and potentially external auditors or payroll providers for integration and compliance Expertia+1SmartRecruitersHuneety
- Supporting process improvements, payroll system upgrades, and policy development to streamline operations
- Occasionally, administrative tasks like onboarding data management and pay changes
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in fields such as Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or HR
- Prior experience in payroll processing or a similar accounting/HR role
- Familiarity with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, QuickBooks, Paychex, SAP) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong numeracy, analytical, and attention-to-detail capabilities
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Sound understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance standards
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
- For HR-specific titles (e.g., HR Payroll Executive), 2–3 years of experience and strong professionalism may be emphasized
