Job Description

The Head of Operations leads the strategic planning, expansion and execution of TTWF's on-ground operations. This position involves engaging with current and potential partners, coordinating with partners to identify new communities, overseeing the opening of schools, and providing ongoing support to operations and field staff. The role is also responsible for enhancing quality of operations, capacity development of on-ground teams, managing budgets, and monitoring performance metrics. Additionally, the Head of Operations implements data collection processes, analyses progress, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive program success. As a key leader, he is also responsible for driving a positive culture in the Operations Team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop Operations Strategies aligned with the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Monitor and report on organizational KPIs and develop strategies to improve achievement of operational KPIs
  • Identify and address potential risks and challenges to program success.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and implement program design and process improvements to enhance operational delivery.

Scale Up Planning:

  • Coordinate with partners to plan and execute the expansion of TTWF Operations and Programs
  • Identify and approve new communities and out-of-school populations for micro school establishment.
  • Oversee and support field teams in opening process of new MicroSchools
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all activities pertaining to new launches are carried out seamlessly

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, educational institutions, community leaders, donors and other stakeholders

Operational Oversight:

  • Drive excellence in operations and ensure smooth execution of existing deployments
  • Set annual targets for field operations and monitor performance against targets
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with field teams to ensure program impact is assessed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all People & Culture & Technology related activities in the field are executed seamlessly
  • Closely monitor performance metrics, including process and outcome KPIs to ensure program success
  • Regularly visit TTWFs deployments on-ground
  • Provide field teams with regular guidance and feedback on operational delivery

Capacity Building & Culture Development

  • Drive a positive culture in the Operations Team that aligns with TTWF values
  • Mentor Regional Managers and Area Teams on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture Team to develop capacity of field teams.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree - Master's degree in Operations Management, Project Management, or related field preferred

Experience: 10+ years of experience in project implementation, with a focus on large-scale projects.
