NOC Engineer

As a NOC Engineer at Alykas, you will be an integral part of our Network Operations Center (NOC), providing advanced support and resolution for networking issues across multiple clients in a multi-tenant environment. Your expertise in alert monitoring, remediation of SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, network switches, and load balancers, along with your understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms and time management for billable time reporting, will be essential in ensuring the stability and performance of our clients' network infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications and operating systems, ensuring customer SLAs are met
• Provide basic technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
• Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, RMM tools such as Solarwinds, Kaseya, NinjaOne, and other tools
• Monitor the remote monitoring and management system alerts and notifications, and respond accordingly through service tickets
• Enter service tickets and documentation maintenance into various systems
• Communicate with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or outages
• Build long-lasting relationships with customers to ensure retention
• Serve as a point of escalation for business-impacting or highly visible issues
• Support disaster recovery solutions
• Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 3 resources to escalate and resolve complex network problems
• Conduct regular health checks and performance optimizations for client networks
• Assist in the design and implementation of network infrastructure upgrades and expansions
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in networking technologies

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in network administration or a related field
• Proficiency in alert monitoring and troubleshooting network issues
• Experience with remediation of SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, network switches, and load balancers
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-tenant environment, prioritizing and managing tasks for multiple clients simultaneously
• Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms for incident management and ticketing
• Time management skills for accurate and timely reporting of billable time
• Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems
• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, user management within the Windows operating system environment
• In-depth knowledge of Windows OS
• Knowledge of Azure and practical experience utilizing AWS for scalable and reliable cloud solutions
• Comprehensive understanding and application of Microsoft Intune for modern device management, policy enforcement, and endpoint security
• Interpersonal skills, telephony skills, excellent communication skills, active listening, customer care, and clarity and precision in conveying technical information
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changes quickly
• Technical awareness: the ability to appropriately match resources to technical issues
• Service awareness of all organization's key IT services for which support is being provided
• Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
