Position Summary

The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficient functioning of the company's accounting operations. The role requires strict adherence to financial regulations, timely reporting, and accurate financial management. The incumbent will manage the complete set of books in line with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and deliver high-quality financial statements to management and stakeholders. This position also involves compliance with taxation laws, coordination with auditors, banking matters, and supporting the company's overall financial integrity and growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise preparation and disbursement of monthly payroll.
  • Implement effective financial controls and ensure their consistent application.
  • Oversee timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations.
  • Prepare and file sales tax, advance tax, and annual income tax returns within prescribed deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with all taxation laws (Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, etc.).
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors for statutory and compliance audits.
  • Oversee all banking operations including issuance of cheque books, guarantees, and foreign payment transactions.
  • Ensure all statutory filings and regulatory requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor agreements and contracts, ensuring obligations are fulfilled.
  • Coordinate with overseas suppliers, transport companies, and manage import-related financial documentation (LCs, contracts, foreign remittances).
  • Maintain the highest standards of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality in financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with company's HSE, SQ, IT, and ISO Integrated Management System standards.
  • Mentor and train team members to align their practices with ISO integrated management systems.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA.
  • CA Intermediate, ACCA, ACMA.

Experience

  • Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of logistics, imports, letters of credit, bank contracts, and foreign payments.
  • Strong expertise in vendor management, payment processing, and accounting systems.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, Income Tax, Sales Tax.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, Other ERP systems, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, Other ERP systems, Oracle).
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
