Import Operations Officer

GR Trading Company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Import Operations Officer to handle all import documentation, shipping, and customs clearance processes. The role requires excellent knowledge of import regulations, coordination with suppliers and clearing agents, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete import cycle including documentation, shipment tracking, and clearance.
  • Prepare and verify import documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.
  • Liaise with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and local clearing agents.
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and follow up to avoid delays or demurrage.
  • Maintain accurate records of imports, shipping costs, and customs duties.
  • Prepare import reports for management and support internal audits.
  • Resolve issues related to shipments, customs clearance, or documentation.
  • Coordinate with the finance team regarding payments of suppliers, duties, and taxes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field. (Preffered)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in import/export operations.
  • Strong understanding of international trade terms (INCOTERMS) and shipping procedures.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and import documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure with strict deadlines.
