In this role, the
Medical Officer will be responsible for the
clinical management and continuous monitoring of patients admitted to the ICU. The incumbent will perform essential
invasive and non-invasive procedures, including
endotracheal intubation and
ventilator support management.*
*The Medical Officer will play a critical role in responding to medical emergencies, effectively performing
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) when required. Additionally, the role demands strict adherence to
hospital protocols,
infection control measures, and
patient safety standards.*
*This position requires
flexibility to work rotational shifts, including nights, and active participation in
multidisciplinary rounds and
on-call duties to ensure the delivery of comprehensive critical care services.*
*Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous clinical assessment, monitoring, and management of ICU patients.
  • Perform airway management, including endotracheal intubation and ventilator support.
  • Administer CPR and ACLS during medical emergencies and code situations.
  • Conduct necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for critical care management.
  • Document all assessments, treatment plans, and interventions accurately in patient records.
  • Collaborate with consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control protocols, and patient safety standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds and update care plans accordingly.
  • Undertake rotational shift work, including night and weekend duties, to maintain 24/7 ICU coverage.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills through continuing medical education and professional development.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical audits and case reviews.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients families regarding treatment and prognosis.
  • Uphold ethical medical practice and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.****
