Role Overview:

The Manager Fire Safety will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of fire safety systems, policies, and practices across the organization. The role ensures compliance with national and international fire safety regulations while safeguarding people, assets, and operations. The incumbent will oversee fire prevention, protection systems, emergency response planning, and fire safety training, while also manage firefighting teams and liaise with external authorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce fire safety policies, standards, and procedures across all facilities.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers, suppression systems).
  • Conduct fire risk assessments, hazard analysis, and vulnerability studies to identify preventive and corrective measures.
  • Lead and supervise fire safety teams, including firefighting staff and emergency response units.
  • Organize fire safety drills, evacuation simulations, and training programs to ensure workforce preparedness.
  • Coordinate with local fire departments, regulatory authorities, and auditors for inspections, approvals, and certifications.
  • Investigate fire-related incidents and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  • Ensure fire safety compliance for new construction, plant expansion, and equipment installation projects.
  • Manage fire safety budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships for equipment and services.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fire safety culture and reduce risks across the organization.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced certification in Fire Safety/Firefighting (e.g., NFPA, NEBOSH Fire Safety, CFPS) preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in fire safety management, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role (preferably in manufacturing/industrial setup).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, standards, and emergency response protocols.
  • Proven leadership, crisis management, and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities to engage internal stakeholders and external agencies.
