Junior to Mid Upwork Lead Generation Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior to Mid Upwork Lead Generation Specialist to identify, qualify, and manage potential client leads through the Upwork platform and other freelancing sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of online marketplaces and the ability to craft effective proposals to generate new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and apply for relevant projects on Upwork and similar platforms (Freelancer, Guru, Fiverr, etc.)
  • Customize and send compelling job proposals to potential clients daily
  • Track and follow up on leads to maximize conversion rates
  • Coordinate with internal sales or technical teams to support project scope discussions
  • Maintain a daily log/report of bids, responses, and follow-ups
  • Optimize profile visibility, proposal templates, and job filters
  • Research clients' needs and tailor outreach messages accordingly
  • Stay updated on Upwork trends, client preferences, and platform policies

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Upwork lead generation or bidding
  • Strong written English and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Upwork interface, bidding strategy, and category tagging
  • Self-driven, organized, and able to meet daily/weekly lead targets
  • Knowledge of CRM tools, Excel/Google Sheets is a plus
  • Capable of managing multiple leads and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Prior experience in IT, business development, or upwork
  • Knowledge of web development, or app development projects.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, I.T, or related field.

Preferred Skills (Bonus):

  • Experience working with sales or business development teams
  • Understanding of project pricing and estimation
  • Upwork profile management and rating improvement strategies
  • Basic knowledge of tools like Trello, Slack, Notion, or ClickUp
