About the Role

We are seeking a 
Payment Processing & Merchant Onboarding Specialist
 with deep expertise in 
TekCard
 payment systems to manage the onboarding of Innowi's restaurant merchants.

This role requires configuring 
hundreds of processor switches and settings
 to ensure our merchants receive 
optimized credit card processing rates
 while maintaining full Visa/Mastercard/PCI compliance.

You will be responsible for coordinating with TekCard, card brands, and our internal teams to guarantee 
accurate, fast, and compliant merchant setups
 — with a focus on 
maximizing residual revenue and minimizing interchange & processing costs
.

Key Responsibilities

• Merchant Onboarding
• Manage end-to-end merchant boarding process on TekCard's platform, including ISO/FSP registration requirements.
• Complete and submit Merchant Processing Agreements (MPAs), ensuring accuracy of business profiles, bank details, and pricing configurations.
• Verify all legal, compliance, and PCI documentation is properly collected and stored.
• Switch & Parameter Configuration
• Configure 100+ processor switches for each merchant account, including interchange routing, BIN filtering, MCC codes, and transaction type settings.
• Optimize card-present vs. card-not-present transaction configurations to minimize interchange costs.
• Implement fraud prevention, tokenization, and security parameter best practices.
• Fee Optimization & Cost Reduction
• Set up and maintain interchange optimization settings for Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover.
• Analyze merchant statements and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Recommend optimal pricing models (Pass-Through, Tiered, Flat Rate) for different merchant profiles.
• Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure PCI DSS compliance at onboarding and monitor for ongoing merchant compliance.
• Apply correct Visa/Mastercard registration clauses to all merchant materials and websites.
• Monitor chargeback thresholds and implement proactive measures to avoid penalties.
• Stakeholder Coordination
• Act as the liaison between Innowi, TekCard, Westamerica Bank, and card brands.
• Train internal sales and deployment teams on TekCard boarding best practices.
• Provide merchant support during the first 90 days of processing to ensure smooth operation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years
   experience in merchant acquiring, ISO operations, or payment processor onboarding.
• Expert-level knowledge
   of TekCard boarding systems, switch configuration, and merchant portfolio management.
• Deep understanding of 
  Visa/Mastercard interchange
   programs, downgrades, and optimization strategies.
• Strong grasp of 
  ISO/FSP compliance
  , including PCI DSS and card brand rules.
• Ability to configure 
  AccessOne
  , 
  PCIApply
  , and merchant portal integrations.
• Proficient in 
  statement analysis
   to detect cost leaks and revenue opportunities.
• Familiarity with 
  POS & gateway integration
   for card-present and eCommerce transactions.
• Excellent documentation skills — able to create SOPs for repeatable, optimized onboarding.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Preferred

• Previous experience working with 
  restaurant merchants
   or SMB QSRs.
• Knowledge of 
  dual pricing
   and 
  cash discount
   program compliance.
• Understanding of 
  tri-party agreements
   and ISO branding requirements.
• Experience in training and mentoring sales or deployment teams on processor setups.
