Job Title: Finance Manager

Job Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the financial management of the hospital, ensuring financial stability, sustainability, and compliance with regulatory requirements. They will oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis, as well as manage a team of finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. *Financial Planning and Budgeting*:

- Develop and implement annual budgets, financial plans, and forecasts

- Collaborate with department managers to align budgets with hospital goals and objectives

- Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for improvement

  1. *Financial Reporting and Analysis*:

- Prepare and present financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities

- Provide recommendations to management on financial matters

  1. *Revenue Cycle Management*:

- Oversee revenue cycle operations, including patient registration, billing, collections, and denial management

- Ensure timely and accurate billing and reimbursement

- Implement processes to optimize revenue and reduce bad debt

  1. *Cost Management*:

- Analyze and control costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures

- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies

- Monitor and report on cost savings initiatives

  1. *Compliance and Risk Management*:

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and standards (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid)

- Identify and mitigate financial risks, developing and implementing risk management strategies

- Collaborate with internal audit and compliance departments

  1. *Team Management*:

- Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities

- Develop and implement performance metrics and evaluations

- Foster a positive and productive team culture

Requirements

  1. *Education*: MBA/MCA or equivalent in Finance/Accounting

  2. *Experience*: 5-8 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field in a healthcare setting

  3. *Certifications*: CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred

  4. *Skills*:

- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills

- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Excel)

Additional Responsibilities may include

  1. Managing hospital finances, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll

  2. Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures

  3. Collaborating with other departments to ensure alignment with hospital goals and objectives

  4. Participating in hospital-wide initiatives, such as strategic planning and quality improvement projects
