Job Title: Assistant Manager Production – Glass Processing

Job Purpose:

The Assistant Manager Production will oversee and support production operations in the Glass Processing Department, ensuring smooth workflow, productivity, compliance with safety and quality standards, and timely completion of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Production Manager in planning and scheduling glass processing operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate with departmental supervisors across cutting, grinding, tempering, double glazing, polishing, and drilling units.
  • Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor manpower allocation, shift planning, and machine utilization.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
  • Control wastage and optimize raw material consumption.
  • Maintain and present daily production performance reports.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Train and motivate production staff to improve skills and productivity.
  • Address and resolve production-related customer complaints in coordination with the quality team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering (or related field).
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing/production (experience in glass/metal/steel industry preferred).
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; ERP knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
