Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to prepare and review contracts, providing timely professional legal advice and opinions to user departments of SSGC.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist in screening and evaluating agreements/contracts, such as service level agreements, gas sale and purchase agreements (upstream and downstream), and procurement contracts under the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Rules.
  2. Determine if agreements serve the company's interests, highlight unfavorable terms, and suggest amendments or removals.
  3. Study drafts of impending legislation, evaluate their impact on SSGC, and recommend appropriate responses.
  4. Coordinate with various departments to resolve issues related to contracts and legal matters.
  5. Assist in drafting contracts, MoUs, and non-disclosure agreements for commercial transactions.
  6. Prepare amendments to existing contracts, considering legal implications and safeguarding company interests.
  7. Review tenancy and lease agreements, providing feedback to relevant departments.
  8. Analyze court decisions on legal issues, assess their impact on operations and ongoing lawsuits, and discuss options with superiors.
  9. Coordinate with external law firms for specialized legal opinions and ensure requirements are met.
  10. Participate in negotiations for gas sale agreements within the industry, ensuring legal aspects are addressed.
  11. Provide legal opinions and guidance on issues and queries from departments.
  12. Represent SSGC in government and legal forums on legislative matters as required.
  13. Assist legal counsel in managing lawsuits, including filing and follow-up.
  14. Attend court hearings on behalf of SSGC when necessary.
  15. Prepare reports on contract progress and legal document vetting.
  16. Support junior staff in drafting and legal analysis.
  17. Identify, assess, and develop strategies for legal risks, monitoring their management.
  18. Ensure accurate and timely risk reporting.
  19. Perform any additional tasks assigned by superiors.
