Instructor Position
Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for coordinating and conducting orientation programs, in-service sessions, workshops, training courses, and CPR courses for nursing staff.
- Coordinate and conduct orientation programs for registered nurses, midwives, nursing technicians, and nursing assistants.
- Coordinate and conduct in-service sessions, workshops, training courses, and CPR courses for nursing staff.
- Participate in planning, developing, and evaluating educational plans, modules, outlines, and performance checklists/evaluation tools.
- Review existing and develop new nursing policies, procedure guidelines, and protocols; conduct awareness sessions for nursing staff.
- Observe nursing practices to assess compliance with policies and protocols; provide feedback to area HNs/CNIs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Needs assessments of orientees and nursing staff using strategic tools.
- Assess trainees' progress and modify teaching strategies accordingly.
- Incorporate principles of teaching and learning in program development and implementation.
- Demonstrate professionalism and act as a role model.
- Deliver competence-based programs aimed at knowledge and skill retention.
- Participate in committees such as NEAC and P&P meetings, providing input.
- Evaluate the quality of educational modules, resources, and equipment.
- Conduct literature searches to stay updated with current trends and modify educational content accordingly.
- Ensure educational programs align with departmental goals.
- Supervise nursing interns during internships.
- Participate in nursing audits and mock drills.
- Make clinical rounds with CNIs to evaluate performance and patient care quality.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on staff development activities.
- Maintain flexibility in managing roles and responsibilities.
- Promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
- Engage in personal and professional growth.
- Perform clinical practice as per personal goals.
- Participate in at least one quality improvement project annually.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by HOD.
