Job Title: Corporate Legal Advisor

Overview

The role of a Corporate Legal Advisor is to provide expert legal advice to the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

This position requires a strong background in law, preferably with a minimum of 8 years of experience and 3 years bar enrollment. The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills, be able to analyze complex legal issues, and provide well-reasoned opinions.

Responsibilities
  • Review amendments to various laws, rules and regulations, evaluating their probable effect on our operations.
  • Provide advice on queries and requests for clarifications on legal matters from management and departmental users.
  • Engage with stakeholders and relevant departments through meetings/consultations to understand matters with legal implications.
  • Based on research, develop appropriate drafts/briefs/opinions/working papers stating facts and opinions/views as required.
  • Study drafts of impending legislation, evaluate the probable effect on us, and advise management on possible steps to protect our interests.
  • Review briefs/replies/cases prepared by junior legal staff and external counsel to ensure our viewpoint is correctly presented and our interests safeguarded; undertake value addition for further processing and approvals.
  • Identify and assess risks under management/ownership; develop and implement risk response strategies; monitor risks and response strategies; ensure accuracy and timeliness of information provided for risk reporting; undertake any other task assigned by superiors.
Qualifications

Law graduate with at least 8 years of relevant experience and 3 years bar enrollment.
