Job Title: Chief Governance Officer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our legal and corporate governance functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the organization's compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and governance requirements.

This role serves as a strategic advisor to senior management and the Board, providing guidance on key business matters, managing risks, and supporting board and corporate governance functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the legal contract management function across the organization, managing a team of in-house legal professionals.
  • Provide strategic advice to the CLO, senior management, and business units on corporate, commercial, regulatory, employment, and litigation matters.
  • Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of key contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance in all business activities.
  • Manage external counsel engagements and monitor legal costs and performance.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified lawyer with a recognized legal qualification (e.g., LLB, JD, Bar, or equivalent).
  • Associate or Fellow of a recognized corporate governance or company secretarial body – preferred.
  • Minimum 10–12 years of relevant legal and governance experience.
  • At least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing legal teams.
  • Experience working with senior executives and boards.
