Operating Room Technician

A skilled Operating Room Technician is required to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and identifying patients, checking patient files, completing per-operative documentation, ensuring specimens are removed and labeled correctly, assisting in safe patient transportation, and reporting equipment problems.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and is committed to providing a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and identify patients for surgical procedures
  • Check patients scheduled for surgery and ensure proper takeover of patient files
  • Complete per-operative documentation pertaining to patient surgery
  • Ensure specimens are removed during surgery, correctly labeled, and dispatched for investigation
  • Assist in safe patient transportation before and after surgery
  • Report equipment problems for rectification
  • Assist in preoperative patient preparation and coordinate with the scheduler

Requirements:

  • Matriculation with a pre-medical background and Intermediate in any discipline
  • Diploma in OT Technician from a reputable institution
  • Preferably one year of relevant experience
  • Good understanding of basic anatomy/physiology and OR terminologies
  • Ability to identify surgical instruments and understand sterilization/disinfection procedures
  • Good communication skills and ability to handle work pressure
  • Willingness to work in shift duties and at different locations
