
Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage Business Opportunities

The Sales Executive/Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within the freight forwarding and customs brokerage sector.
This role requires a strong understanding of international trade, customs regulations, and logistics services. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional with excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building lasting relationships with clients and contributing significantly to the company's revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales:
- Identify and target potential clients who require freight forwarding and customs brokerage services across various industries.
- Conduct extensive market research to identify new business opportunities, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Generate new leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and attending industry events/exhibitions.
- Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
- Negotiate pricing, service agreements, and terms & conditions with prospective and existing clients to secure new business and retain current accounts.
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for all logistics and customs-related inquiries.
- Understand client supply chain challenges and propose customized logistics solutions (e.g., air freight, ocean freight, FCL/LCL, customs clearance, warehousing, distribution, land transport).
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by coordinating with internal operations, customer service, and documentation teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure client needs are met and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
- Market & Industry Knowledge:
- Stay updated on the latest Pakistan Customs laws, SROs (Statutory Regulatory Orders), import/export regulations, and international trade policies.
- Keep abreast of global logistics trends, freight rates, and market dynamics.
- Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to management to help refine sales strategies.
- Reporting & Administration:
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or internal system).
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and activity summaries for management review.
- Collaborate closely with the operations, pricing, and finance departments to ensure seamless service execution and accurate invoicing.
- Handle client queries, complaints, and provide solutions efficiently.
