Job Description

To excel in an academic environment, you must be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. This involves implementing the academic plan circulated by the university to achieve high-quality results through teaching, administration, and advisory work.

  • Meet annual targets assigned by the Head of Department/Principal to ensure seamless operation.
  • Work towards setting appropriate targets for a high-quality teaching and learning environment.
  • Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy to deliver exceptional student outcomes.
  • Develop and refine your teaching and learning skills to contribute to the planning of teaching programs.
  • Employ innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning to enhance student engagement.
  • Encourage critical thinking, debate, and discourse among students to foster their ability to engage in rational thinking.
  • Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements where necessary to provide guidance and support.
  • Set, mark, and assess work and examinations, providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' academic progress for internal evaluation purposes.
  • Mentor students under the Riphah Mentoring Program to guide their personal and professional development.
  • Update data in Virtual Learning Environment and other required software according to requirements.
  • Incorporate Islamic and ethical values into your teaching practices.
  • Participate in departmental and university committee activities to contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Ensure that teaching content and delivery methods align with the RIU mission and address any issues related to subordinates or students.
  • Monitor student attendance in classes, labs, and practicals to maintain a productive learning environment.
  • Promote new and applied knowledge of the discipline through peer-reviewed publications.
  • Conduct independent research as a principal investigator and project leader to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Serve as a referee and contribute to peer assessment to maintain academic integrity.
  • Act as a line manager, supervising others' work in research teams, projects, or as a PhD supervisor when required.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Academic Teaching: Deliver high-quality teaching, employ innovative strategies, and facilitate experiential learning.
  2. Student Supervision: Provide guidance on student projects, field trips, and placements, set, mark, and assess work and examinations.
  3. Mentoring: Mentor students under the Riphah Mentoring Program.
  4. Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of students' academic progress, update data in VLE and other required software.
  5. Research: Conduct independent research as a principal investigator and project leader, serve as a referee and contribute to peer assessment.
