Software Engineering Lead

We're seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead to oversee all projects undertaken by the team, determine technical requirements, and communicate them effectively.

This role requires identifying risks and developing contingency plans promptly, collaborating closely with design and product teams to create exceptional product experiences, and working with the Team Lead and Product Manager to align the team's work with product goals and timelines.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in product-led software development, develop software architecture to implement features and meet OKRs, and provide software development expertise through pair programming and code reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Oversight: Oversee all projects undertaken by the team, determine technical requirements, and communicate them effectively.
  2. Risk Management: Identify risks and develop contingency plans promptly.
  3. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with design and product teams to create exceptional product experiences.
  4. Tech Alignment: Work with the Team Lead and Product Manager to align the team's work with product goals and timelines.

Requirements:

  1. Possess a passion for technology and developing scalable, robust software systems.
  2. Have a passion for creating outstanding user experiences.
  3. Design and architect software for distributed systems with high performance, scalability, and availability.
  4. Push boundaries via rapid prototyping and iterative development to drive innovation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High-output individual contributor with strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Accountable, trustworthy, and able to build lasting relationships with teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • 5+ years of software development experience with NodeJS, Express, PostgreSQL, React, and Typescript.
  • At least 2 years of Tech Lead/Systems Architect experience, preferably in fintech, trading, or banking.
  • Deep understanding of database principles and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of documentation and diagramming in software engineering (ERDs, State Diagrams, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
