Senior Django Backend Engineer

Buildlane partners with fast-growing startups and scale-ups to build world-class engineering teams. We're currently looking for a Senior Django Backend Engineer to join one of our clients in building mission-critical, data-heavy systems.

What You'll Do

  • Design and maintain Django models, serializers, and APIs.
  • Implement Celery and async task pipelines for high-volume data processing.
  • Build and optimize secure sandboxing environments for running user-defined logic.
  • Develop data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing large datasets.
  • Write comprehensive automated tests for backend logic and system reliability.
  • Deploy and manage production workloads on Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, scalable backend systems.

Core Skills & Experience

  • Python + Django/Django Rest Framework (5+ years).
  • Hands-on experience with Celery, async tasks, and distributed job queues.
  • Strong background in secure systems design and backend architecture.
  • PostgreSQL/MySQL performance optimization.
  • Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines for production deployment.
  • Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Solid understanding of Git workflows (PR reviews, branching strategies).
  • Bonus: Experience in real-time systems, trading/execution platforms, or data-heavy applications.
