About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Python Backend Engineer to build the backbone of our AI-powered healthcare platform. The product uses ambient AI to intelligently capture patient-provider interactions and streamline documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Python (Django/FastAPI/Flask).

  • Architect and optimize APIs for frontend (React) and mobile integrations.

  • Integrate with AI/ML pipelines for speech-to-text and natural language processing.

  • Work with PostgreSQL/RDS for structured data storage.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA security and privacy standards.

  • Deploy and maintain services on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3).

  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.

  • Collaborate with DevOps and AI teams to deliver production-ready features.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience in Python.

  • Strong expertise with Django, FastAPI, or Flask.

  • Advanced understanding of RESTful API design (GraphQL experience a plus).

  • Solid experience with AWS services (RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3).

  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis.

  • Exposure to healthcare standards (FHIR/HL7) is a plus.

  • Experience working with AI/ML services (speech-to-text, NLP) is preferred.
