Our partner is seeking a dynamic Head of Engineering to join one of the region's most forward-looking banks and drive large-scale digital transformation. This is a unique opportunity to lead engineering teams building cutting-edge financial solutions in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale large engineering teams (60+ developers, 10+ squads).
  • Drive technical strategy, solution architecture, and delivery of next-gen banking platforms.
  • Oversee development of microservices-based systems and modern Java frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with banking/financial regulations while delivering secure, resilient, and scalable systems.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, infra, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Mentor and develop engineers into strong contributors and future leaders.

Essential Requirements

  • 15+ years' experience in engineering with extensive Java expertise.
  • Proven record of leading large-scale teams in financial services/fintech.
  • Deep knowledge of microservices, DevOps (CI/CD, automation, monitoring), cloud/on-prem infra, and containerization.
  • Hands-on exposure to banking technology, compliance, and regulatory needs.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in the banking/financial services industry, with deep understanding of compliance and regulatory needs.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, messaging systems).
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Angular) for full-stack discussions.
  • Background in data platforms, big data, analytics, AI/ML pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and regulatory audits.
