JOB Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage multi-entity financial operations, ensure compliance, and support insolvency-related projects. This role requires fluency in English, the ability to work independently, and a knack for quick learning and organization. The candidate must be comfortable using tools like Xero and BrightPay, and navigating the nuances of excise compliance, licensing, and multi-company reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations:

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in English (verbal and written).
  • Use Xero to manage accounting functions across multiple companies.
  • Reconcile accounts and import bank statements in Xero.
  • Produce rent invoices, manage commission payments, and insurance recharges.
  • Manage aged receivables and VAT/government compliance.
  • Set up payment workflows and generate licensing invoices.
  • Send receivables statements and maintain financial trackers.

Payroll & HR Compliance:

  • Manage payroll, RTI submissions, and pay slip/P45 handling using BrightPay.
  • Ensure timely payroll processing and legal compliance across assigned entities.

Licensing & Reporting:

  • Maintain and manage licensing-related documentation, invoicing, and payment setup.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on license-related receivables and obligations.

Whisky Insolvency Project Support:

  • Assist agents in managing whisky insolvency projects, focusing on:
  • Excise compliance
  • Bonded warehouse stock tracking
  • Receivables monitoring
  • Valuation for creditor recovery
  • Extract and process relevant information from whisky-related emails.
  • Respond to cask owner queries and coordinate with appropriate internal/external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant finance/accounting role.
  • Hands-on experience with Xero and BrightPay.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
