II. Organizational Context

Aahung is a non-profit organization founded in 1994. Aahung uses a rights-based approach to improve the quality of sexual and reproductive health services provided in Pakistan to men, women and young people.

Aahung works with partner institutions with the aim of building the capacity and knowledge base of service providers comprising of doctors, nurses, government health workers, community and field workers, teachers and parents.

III. Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities and Duties/Results Expected

1. Development and execution of a fundraising strategy for Aahung.

2. Setting and achieving realistic time-limited fundraising targets, agreed in consultation with senior management.

3. Creating a sustainable and diverse fundraising portfolio, with funding streams including individuals, major gifts, corporates, community, events and trusts/foundations through:

a. The completion of a donor mapping exercise including a list of corporations, trusts, foundations, high net worth individuals, international Pakistani associations, embassies, govt agencies, aid agencies

b. Developing stronger relationships with individuals and organisations that have previously donated to Aahung and developing and maintaining new partnerships in consultation with the senior management of Aahung

c. Exploring contacts of board members and senior management that are high net worth individuals (HNWIs) or otherwise influential due to their position, personal connections or affiliation with professional bodies

d. Hosting an annual "Open House" event

e. Peer screening

f. Participating in external festivals and events that are relevant to Aahung

g. Developing strong, meaningful relationships with prospects

h. Soliciting prospects for a specific donation

4. Plan and manage the execution of fundraising appealsandcampaigns.

5. Carrying out prospect research leading to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive fundraising database that captures all relevant information.

6. Carrying out research on RFPs for all relevant international grants and forwarding relevant information to senior management and/or individual components.

7. Carrying out research on RFPs but should also be developing proposals (esp technical proposals) and forwarding them to the senior management for review/feedback.

8. Coordination with and feedback given to Communications on fundraising and publicity materials for awareness.

9. Building relationships with media (print, media, digital) in coordination with the Communications component to raise the visibility of Aahung's work at the national and international level.

IV. Key Selection Criteria

• Minimum Bachelor's degree with at least three years' experience in donor and partnership relationship management
• Demonstrated experience in building and strengthening relationships and strong networking skills
• Strong network of personal and corporate contacts and ability to extend this network
• Highly motivated and able to work independently to agreed goals and targets and take ownership of the overall fundraising program of the organization.
• Outstanding interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Well-developed analytical skills and ability to apply sound judgment in estimating task/project time, determining priority and approach to be taken when seeking new opportunities
• High ethical standards of behaviour, good judgment, respect for others and confidentiality
• Excellence in written and spoken English and spoken Urdu
• Experience in research and delivering information with strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience in gathering and cross-referencing information from a wide range of sources
• Creative, lateral thinker who can identify links and connections
• Sensitivity to differences in culture and nationality with the ability to work closely with colleagues from across the world with a range of professional backgrounds
• Ability to work under pressure, meeting key project and reporting deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision whilst at the same time work effectively and as a member of a cohesive and collaborative team
• Commitment to confidentiality and respect for anonymity where appropriate
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Proficiency in or ability to learn CRM/donor management software such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, DonorPerfect and/or others

V. Recruitment Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree (Minimum requirement)

Experience: -2-3 years' experience in relationship management or similar role

Language Requirements: Outstanding written and spoken English skills and

spoken Urdu

VI. Special Requirements

• This position may require travel within and outside Pakistan. Costs of travel will be covered/reimbursed as per Aahung's Travel Policy
• Frequent work outside regular business hours
