Our company is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in UK tax regulations and compliance, with a strong understanding of corporate and personal tax matters.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, advising on tax planning strategies, and ensuring adherence to all relevant UK tax laws.

The key responsibilities of this role include managing and overseeing all aspects of UK tax compliance for the company and clients, preparing and reviewing UK tax returns, computations, and supporting documentation for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.

Liaising with HMRC and other relevant authorities regarding tax enquiries, audits, and correspondence is also an important aspect of this job.

Additionally, the successful candidate will provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize tax liabilities and identify potential tax savings, ensure accurate and timely filing of all UK tax returns and payments, and stay up to date with changes in UK tax legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of UK tax compliance for the company and clients.
  • Prepare and review UK tax returns, computations, and supporting documentation for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other relevant authorities regarding tax enquiries, audits, and correspondence.
  • Provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize tax liabilities and identify potential tax savings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of all UK tax returns and payments.
  • Stay up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and communicate implications to stakeholders.
  • Support the external audit process with tax-related documentation and reconciliations.
  • Review accounting records and ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior accountants in tax-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors for cross-border tax compliance and planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
  • Minimum 3–5 post articleship years of experience in UK tax, preferably in a public accounting firm or multinational environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation, including corporate tax, VAT, and payroll taxes.
  • Experience in dealing with HMRC and understanding of UK GAAP.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., IRIS, TaxCalc, CCH) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
