Role Overview

We're seeking a seasoned sales engineering director to lead our pre-sales teams, develop junior engineers, and drive commercial sales objectives.

About the Position

This strategic leader will oversee multiple teams, provide technical guidance, and support our commercial sales teams to achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading high-performing teams, developing innovative solutions, and driving revenue growth.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of sales engineering managers and individual contributors to deliver exceptional results.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop strategies that align with commercial segment goals and drive revenue growth.
  • Establish best practices for the sales engineering function, ensuring consistent delivery of technical support, solutioning, and impactful product demonstrations.
  • Partner with the recruiting team to identify, attract, and onboard top sales engineering talent.
  • Design and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the team.
  • Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to leadership based on comprehensive data analysis, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Act as a key liaison between the sales engineering team and internal departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
Key Requirements
  • Proven leadership experience with a minimum of 3+ years in a second-line leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with value selling concepts and methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience as an individual contributing sales engineer is essential.
  • Experience overseeing commercial sales cycles and supporting high-volume transactions is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required.
